Hello family! I got transferred from Pendleton to the Tri cities. I am in Southgate ward in the Kennewick East stake, speaking English. I am serving with Elder Knutson, from Moab Utah. We came out together. I am also serving with Elder Garcia from Oaxaca Mexico. He came out 12 weeks after me. They are so cool. So this tri-pan (Tripanionship) is only temporary. The companion I was supposed to go with had to go home because he broke his ankle. That is what president told me. So quick story, a few days after being in Kennewick, I get a call from the Assistants, and they asked me to help out with an Emergency transfer. So they pick me up and drop me off with an Elder, whose companion got Emergency transferred. So I spent the day with that Elder. Then President Ware picked me up that night and dropped me off with my companions. President said that he was gonna have me and the Elder who went home open up a new area. So that was cool. President Ware is so awesome, I love him. He is a funny guy. So that Elder I went with for the emergency transfer was having kind of a rough time. Cause that is the second time that has happened to him in the same area. So I just listened to him as he talked and we talked. Then we did service. So that was cool to spend the day with that Elder.

So I am in a walking area AGAIN!! My were so sore after pday yesterday. I had a good nights rest. I was sad to be leaving Pendleton. The members there were so cool. We had some awesome investigators as well. We put one on date before we left. And then at the transfer site, I heard that one of the investigators I found and taught the whole time in Umatilla, is getting baptized this weekend! So that was exciting to hear! The mission is continuing to be awesome. SO many cool experiences that I don't have the time to share. All I know is that the Church is true, and Jesus Christ is the center. The cornerstone. The Leader. The Jefe. I am so grateful for him. Thanks for the Birthday packages and wishes! I loved them so much! I love you all! Have a great day!!!

Love Elder Caskey!

Thanks so much for the Birthday wishes. 20 years old has finally come. I am glad to not be a teenager anymore. I haven't gotten the packages yet, because it is transfer week, and they hold all of the packages. So most likely next week  I will get them. But the sisters missionaries here gave me some cookies, so that was cool. Spanish is going ok, I am losing it a little, just because I don't do any Spanish work. But I want to be able to be fluent, so I am going to move to mexico for a year after my mission haha jk maybe.

Well, this week was pretty good. We found 2 new investigators. It has been a long time since we have found an investigator. But one of them, we were walking and saw him with 2 less-active members so we went over to talk to him. He said he had some questions that are really hard and might question our faith, but they didn't, and they were pretty easy. He just had a lot of them. So then we set a return appointment and we went over to a members home, a former Stake President, and we had an awesome lesson. The spirit was so strong. The stake president's testimony was powerful. I could feel the spirit as I testified as well. The investigator also felt it and he accepted a baptismal date to be baptized. It was a really cool experience. We haven't been able to meet with the Step-son investigator, they have been really busy. We also had 3 investigators at church yesterday, that was really cool.  Anyways, that was all for this week. I was on exchanges and this little dog was chasing us in our car and it was pretty funny. We find out tonight if one of us gets transferred or not. So we will see. gracias por todo, les quiero tanto. What does that crow say in Spanish? Quiquiriqui! Quiquiriqui!

Love Elder Caskey

Hello everybody, it is so good to hear from you all again. This week was pretty good. It was one of the coldest weeks here in Pendleton and my whole life. My hands were so cold, that I couldt even write. And everyone always asks me if I am cold (Cause Im from AZ) and I always say yes haha. We did service at salvation army again, we went into the back lot and cleaned up a lot of trash and moved a bunch of carts full of donations. The people at salvation army are so nice. We had a lesson with two of our investigators and we brought a recent convert of about a year to the lesson. It was really cool, because those recent converts can really help investigators progress. The lesson was really good. The husband is working on sundays, so that is a bummer. We weren't able to visit with the stepson investigator family, because people were sick. So tonight we hopefully meet with them. That will be exciting. New years eve was pretty boring. We had to go in early, so we weekly planned and then worked out. Our church time changed from 1 to 9 am. So we have to wake up a little early for ward council and correlation. We talked with a lot of people this week. We didn't get any new investigators, which was a bummer, but this next week we will have a lot of time to find. We are supposed to be finding for 4-5 hours a day. That is a lot of hours. That can be hard sometimes. I always thought the mission would be easy, but I was dead wrong. It is more hard mentally than physically. So that's fun haha. This week I was reading in the Book of Mormon in Jacob chapter 4. And I guess in previous times I have read that chapter, I was not paying attention. This is one of my favorite chapters now, because it spoke to me, and the verses were so profound. It talks a little bit about the atonement, and I loved it! So I invite you to read Jacob chapter 4! It is amazing what things we don't notice in the scriptures the first time, and then the second time it sticks out! I learn new things each time I read the book of Mormon. And also, I have done a lot better with waking up on time ! And yes I journal my experiences.
