So, my new companions name is Elder Tanner from Minnesota. He speaks spanish but not as good as elder smith did. So we are both learning spanish at the same time. So the week when we changed companions was pretty crappy. We didnt get in with anyone, and we were just down. But, we decided to pray, and to ask heavenly father for help. And he gave us help! He helped us get in with people, and he helped us start off to a good week this week! It was a definate testimony builder on prayer, and the it actually works! So that was cool

There isnt a lot of english work out here, so thats hard. We have a lot of finding to do. But it is gonna work out. We are hoping for some baptisms and we are trying our best to get them to happen.

Transfer Week

Well, I am staying in Quincy for 6 more weeks, taking over the area. And the English elders are getting kicked out, and now I am taking over the English area too. So now I get more investigators. I am really sad to see my companion go, and the other two elders. We were all so close, and it is going to be sad to see them go. But, I will be able to stay with the ward and the branch for 6 more weeks.
That is pretty funny that you are talking with Sister Hodges and Elder Smiths mom. And its weird at the same time. Aunt Maureen wouldn't get in the picture with us unfortunately. But that's ok. We ate dinner and we shared a scripture with them. Moroni 10:3-5. I felt the spirit, and hopefully it impacted them.

We are getting really close to one of our investigators, and the mom will be baptized, no doubt, they just have a marriage problem to work out, but it will all work out in the end. All our investigators are awesome! These past two weeks have been awesome cause we have been able to get more members with us then ever. And we got 9 of our investigators to come to church! So it has been a good week.
Also, if you guys are going to send letters or something, make sure to only send it to the mission office, it makes everything so much easier. Cause if you send something during transfers, it can get screwed up.   Also, there is a possibility we are moving to Ramona Webley's, so that will be fun.
I have some pictures, but I will have to send the rest later, cause I have to get them from my Companion, but this one is from one of my investigators who is a die hard Seahawks fan!

Great Week

So this week was pretty crazy! On Wednesday, one of the sisters in the ward asked us to do a little MTC training for the activity day girls. It was pretty fun, and at the end we got to dress up like Americanized Mexicans, and speak Spanish to them! That was pretty fun.

One of our investigators this week played an accordion for us, and they were both pretty old ha-ha. One of our most solid investigator families, the kids were put on date for baptism, all three! So we should be getting some baptisms here pretty soon! Also, I have been a little sick with a sore throat and stuffy nose this weekend, so that sucks. But on Sunday, we were able to have 11 investigators at church! And there were more investigators at church than members! So that was really crazy. My comp said, he has never gotten that many investigators at church.

Also, each day we keep track of how many people we talked to, and since I have been here, we have talked to 700 plus people. Crazy! Also, on Sunday, we were able to have dinner at the branch presidents house, and we played with their kids for a few minutes, and they were crazy, and we have a few pictures of them. Anyways, that was my week, and it was pretty awesome!

Thanks for the talk, I like it alot! I remember reading it in the last general conference ensign. There are a lot of good talks

I like all of these, cause it really does show what we can do to approach the throne of god with confidence. I know that I dont want to be a person who goes up only thinking about all the wrongs I did. I want to think about how I repented of those wrongs and chose to go up there with a positive outlook, and showing the lord all the good things I have done. Thanks for this talk, I really love it!

Approaching the Throne of God with Confidence

1. Take responsibility for your own spiritual well-being
2. Take responsibility for your own physical well-being
3. Embrace voluntary, wholehearted obedience as part of your life
4. Become really, really good at repenting thoroughly and quickly
5. Become really, really good at forgiving
6. Accept trials, setbacks, and “surprises” as part of your mortal experience
